The plan is to leave the Siltcoos Boat Ramp (turn east on Pacific Avenue off Hwy 101 in Westlake which ends at the boat ramp) around 10 a.m., paddle to the ocean, have lunch on the beach and then paddle back to the boat ramp. Total roudtrip paddling distance is about 7 miles. Be careful at the Siltcoos dam as the portage ramp has some loose handrails at the bottom.

Well! I just completed my first kayaking trip. I sailed amongst neon blue dragonflies, hydrangeas in full bloom against lush bank of greens, lily pads open to the sky... And YES, I may have been the only one, but I saw actual Prince Frogs on those lily pads waiting to be kissed.

Okay, Mr. Bill says that Reedsport is the most fun city he's ever been in. I agree, BUT it's Mr. Bill that puts the fun in the city!
